The Wheatland J1 School District will be closing school and canceling all after school activities for Wednesday, February 12.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area beginning tomorrow at noon. Based on the forecasted conditions during dismissal, we are concerned it will create a hazardous situation for students and staff on the ride home. The conditions will make it very difficult for the township and county to keep up with roads in our rural district while buses would be on the road. We considered an early release due to the forecast, but believed it would create a bigger burden for parents and guardians. In addition, we wanted to inform you this evening to give ample notice to arrange childcare. As always, when making these difficult decisions our primary concern is for the safety of our students and staff.
There will be no virtual expectations for students tomorrow. Please stay safe.

There will be no school on Friday, February 14th or Monday, February 17th due to teacher inservice.
Have a great week!
