Wheatland students loved their adventures in the first snowfall of 2024! Although it has been too cold to enjoy the extra inches that fell over the weekend, we turned the chill into thrill as students continue to explore winter through thematic writing, math stations, STEAM challenges, and more! We've also been taking advantage of fun indoor activities that get us moving while staying warm, including basketball, scavenger hunts, creative play, and even a 4K indoor "skating rink"! ⛸️❄️🧊

Ms. Amy Schneider helps melodies flourish and talents bloom as she teaches lessons of music, harmony, and rhythm! As Wheatland's 4K-6th grade music teacher, she gives students space and activities to explore sounds, beats, and movement in music. She puts lots of time and effort into practicing with students for each song, speaking part, and element of choreography. Happy Veterans Day from Wheatland Center School! We celebrated our community's veterans yesterday with a breakfast hosted by our eighth grade leaders and a special assembly with students sharing poetry, singing the National Anthem, and performing "America the Beautiful" before honoring our guests during the Hallway of Heroes Parade! Our 5th and 6th graders visited our local Veterans Memorial Park to learn about the different branches of our military, historical information about each flag represented, and etiquette when visiting memorials.
