Wheatland Teachers Welcome Back Students for 3rd Straight Year
The Wheatland teachers took to the streets to welcome back their students and invite them to open house. The 90 degree weather could not keep them away, as Teachers boarded buses to knock on doors in Wheatland neighborhoods. They surprised students with spirit items, and well wishes. This is the third year the staff went door to door to make the transition easier.
“After a long summer, the teachers wanted to get out in the community and let students know that they are excited for them to come back to school,” said District Administrator Marty McGinley.
Wheatland will have their Open House on Tuesday August 28th from 4:00-7:00. Students will be able to meet their teachers and visit their classrooms. The staff is excited to start the 2017-18 school year on September 4th.
Drew Halbesma, Principal at Wheatland said, “What an awesome way to start to start the year. The smiles on the kids' faces were priceless."
