Wheatland Students Compete in Academic Bowl

2019 Academic Bowl

Wheatland students recently participated in an Academic Bowl hosted at George Williams College in Williams Bay.  Teams were made up of five students from each grade - sixth through eighth. Students were nominated by teachers to compete within their designated area of expertise - Math, Science, English/Language Arts, or Social Studies. It was a fun day for students, as they participated in an individual test of subject knowledge, a current events team quiz, and a team STEAM challenge.

The following students represented Wheatland in the 2019 Academic Bowl:  6th Grade - Safyire Guthrie, Nolin Jannke, Jessica Roynon, Elise Williamson, and Venily Young; 7th Grade - Mason Biehn, Jack Brenton, Reinhardt Dewitt, James Noonan and Amanda Rainey; and 8th Grade - Wesley Becker, Caleb Bruley, Alex Bush, Breanna Moe, and Jessica Ormonde.  All of the Wheatland students that participated should be very proud of the extra effort they put forth in each event.

Several Wheatland students placed within their designated area of expertise.  Safyire Guthrie placed third overall in 6th grade English/Language Arts. Mason Biehn placed first overall in 7th grade English/Language Arts.  Jack Brenton placed first overall in 7th grade Math. Amanda Rainey placed third overall in 7th grade Science. Alex Bush placed second overall in 8th grade Math.  Jessica Ormonde placed third overall in 8th grade Science. Congratulations Warhawks on a job well done!
