Welcome to the Wheatland Center School Open Enrollment Website
Wheatland Center School District provides a safe, welcoming learning environment for students, parents, and community members. We offer a well-balanced rigorous and relevant blend of academics, the arts, and exploratories.
We are proud of the progressive initiatives we have implemented to better prepare our students for the future. Students are provided individual laptops to enhance their 21st learning and living skills. Students have computer classes starting in 4k. They interact with technology through the use of Smart Boards and other technology resources. We are the first K-8 school district in Wisconsin to offer the Gateway to Technology program, a rigorous science, technology, and engineering program. As a result we were recently awarded the Excellence in Technology & Engineering Educational Leadership Award for the state of Wisconsin. Through the use of Rosetta Stone, starting in kindergarten, our students have the opportunity to study Chinese, French, German, Spanish, or up to 21 other languages. Our web site tools allow families open access to their children’s to behavioral, attendance, lunch account and other records via Skyward's family access.
Our size allows us to know students and their families on an individual basis. The safe, caring, personalized environment supports excellence. Students succeed with teachers who have high behavioral and academic expectations for all. Teachers support students to develop creativity and achieve academic excellence. We use on going assessments such as the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) and AIMS Web to monitor student progress and growth. We then use this data to develop individual learning plans for students. With the addition of Compass Odyssey this year, we have begun to use the most powerful web based instructional support tool to assist with this individualized instruction.
